This was a great book that had humor, loss, dealing with difficult relationships with parents, jerk of an ex and the best friends anyone could ever ask for. Cole is such a nice and sweet guy that unfortunately keeps going back time and again to be that "safety net" for his jerk of an ex from high school. Aiden is a little older, has divorced his wife, opened a successful bar and tried to mend his broken relationship with his dad. Oh yeah, he is straight.... maybe?! When Cole's ex, Drake starts humiliating him in the bar Aiden can't stand by and allow his friend to be hurt like that. So why not pretend they have started seeing each other, no problems could come with that, right? Between the gossip about Aiden turning his back on his family, the new relationship with Cole, hateful words from the Walkie Talkies and Cole's interfering mom it is a wonder these two maintain their sanity. Along the way they discover that they really have never had to fake their attraction or feelings of contentment with each other. The way Aiden helps Cole realize he is worth so much more than he was led to believe and their learning to trust and lean on each other was so sweet. With help from their friends will they come out on the other side still together? Or will all the gossip, hateful words, past hurts/insecurities and a vengeful ex stop them? This is worth the read just for the humor between all of the friends! This one got me a bit emotional there for a moment. The guys are great and, for the most part, communicate well. I appreciate an adult relationship when reading about people over the age of 30.Aiden and Cole are fantastic characters and the rest of the guys are really interesting and I can't wait to read their stories. I'm glad that Drake got what he deserved and that the guys got the last laugh.I can't wait for book two.
